Aaaahhhhh this episode was so much fun! I seriously love having my friends over to talk about the things we love. This episode features my wonderful friend, Amy Ferguson who is the Executive Director of Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project, a high quality, high volume spay/neuter (cats only) non profit in the Greater Seattle Area.
There are so many great things in this episode. I particularly love the stories Amy tells about the animals in her life. She’s so good at naming her cats. It makes me laugh just thinking about it.
In the last episode, I talked a bit about how it makes me upset thinking about people having to surrender their pets in order for them to receive life-saving veterinary care, and I wish there were more options out there for people to be able to afford the care their pets need. Of course during this latest episode, my friend Amy reminded me of this bill that recently passed:
SB 5004 – 2019-20 Allowing animal care and control agencies and nonprofit humane societies to provide additional veterinary services to low-income households.
I am so happy about this because it means more pets can stay with the families who love them.
